Ghanaian entrepreneur and singer, Afua Asantewaa, has embarked on her second attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual.
The challenge, which commenced on December 21, 2024, is taking place in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, and is expected to last until December 25, 2024.
Afua’s ambitious attempt aims to surpass the current record of 105 hours, held by Sunil Waghmare of India.
To achieve this feat, Afua is singing non-stop, accompanied by a DJ and a live band. The event is being streamed live on her social media platforms, allowing fans and supporters to follow her progress and cheer her on.
This is not Afua’s first attempt at breaking this record. In December 2023, she made her initial attempt, which received overwhelming support from Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
Unfortunately, despite completing the marathon, her effort was disqualified by Guinness World Records due to breaches of certain guidelines.
