Residents of Adansi Nsese in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region were struck by tragedy over the weekend as they recovered the lifeless body of a 30-year-old man, Tei Mantey, who drowned in the River Pra.
Mantey met his untimely demise while returning from a funeral at night, unable to utilize an uncompleted bridge abandoned by the government for the past seven years.
Opting to cross the river via canoe proved fatal for Mantey, highlighting the urgency of completing the bridge.
The incident has prompted elders of Adansi Nsese to call upon President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to prioritize the completion of the bridge, which not only impacts daily commuters but also poses a significant threat to school children in the area.
