Election 2024: Police Arrest Togolese Who Came To Ghana To Vote Illegally

In a swift and decisive move, the Ghana Police Service has arrested a group of individuals at a polling station in Aflao, who were attempting to cast their votes illegally.

The suspects, who were apprehended while queuing to vote, were found to be non-Ghanaian nationals, specifically from Togo.

According to eyewitnesses, the arrest was made possible through the collaborative efforts of residents, police, and local authorities.

The incident has sent a strong message that the electoral process in Ghana will not tolerate any form of illegality or manipulation.

This is not the first time that non-Ghanaian nationals have been caught attempting to participate in Ghana’s electoral process.

In May, two Togolese nationals were arrested for attempting to register to vote in the ongoing voter registration exercise.

As the country continues to vote in the December 7 elections, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting the integrity of the electoral process.

The Ghana Police Service has demonstrated its commitment to ensuring the sanctity of the vote, and Gh Page will continue to provide updates on any developments as the election unfolds.
