Former Bolivian President Evo Morales narrowly escaped an assassination attempt after unidentified gunmen fired multiple shots at his vehicle in Bolivia’s Cochabamba region.
In a shocking video, Morales’s car is shown with bullet holes in the windshield, as a panicked passenger shouts to close the windows while the car speeds away.
Though Morales escaped unharmed, his driver sustained head injuries from the gunfire. In the chaotic footage, Morales is overheard urging someone to “block them,” signaling that the assailants were still in pursuit.

As the car raced towards Shinahota, a local town in Chapare, Morales made an urgent call to the area’s mayor, seeking assistance.
This assassination attempt comes amid political unrest in the region, where residents have blockaded a major highway for weeks, underscoring tensions in Morales’s stronghold.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement, but the incident highlights escalating tensions in Bolivia’s politically volatile regions.
