A 62-year-old father, Muhammad Ujujud, has been arrested for chaining and locking up his 16-year-old daughter for two years by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, in Kano, Nigeria. (Video below)
The father, Muhammad Ujujud was picked up when his teenage daughter was rescued after being locked up for two years.
OccupyGh.com has gathered that the father locked up his daughter on reason that she refused to enter an arranged marriage for her when she was 14 years old.

Ujujud who is a resident of Rinji village in Madobi Local Government Area of the state decided to lock up his daughter as punishment for refusing to accept a husband he forced on her.
According to reports, this is not the first child he is locking away like this, he had also locked his son Shehu, in separate cells in his house but unfortunately, he died recently while in detention.
The story was secretly leaked by a member of the community to journalists explaining that the man was notorious for meting out corporal punishment on his family and he was dreaded in the village.
According to the locals, Mr Ujudud only rarely fed his captive children with food.
“He hardly gave them food to eat. The sleep and defecate in just one point,” said a neighbor who preferred not to be named.
After she was rescued, NAPTIP officials took her to a private hospital in Kano, where she is currently receiving treatments as she was found pale and ill.
The state commandant of NAPTIP, Shehu Umar, who confirmed the arrest and detention, said investigation is currently ongoing.
