GFA Faces Serious Public Backlash After Gifting ‘Second Hand’ Buses Worth ¢570,000 Each To Selected Clubs

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has come under intense criticism following the emergence of videos showcasing the deteriorated interior of a bus presented to New Edubiase United.

The footage, which has been widely shared on social media, has sparked outrage among football fans and stakeholders, raising questions about the GFA’s commitment to improving the welfare of local clubs.

Charles Ntim, the former President of Techiman City FC, was among the first to publicly denounce the GFA’s actions.

In a scathing Facebook post, he shared evidence of the poor condition of the bus allocated to New Edubiase United, describing it as a clear indication of negligence and lack of respect for the clubs.

The bus is part of the GFA’s initiative to distribute vehicles to selected clubs to support their operations.

In the first phase of this distribution, nine clubs, including Young Apostles, Okwahu United, Basake Holy Stars, Vision FC, and New Edubiase United, received buses.

However, the condition of at least one of these buses has cast a shadow over the project, leading to widespread condemnation.

Social media platforms have been flooded with reactions, as users expressed their displeasure at the GFA’s failure to ensure the buses were in good condition before distribution.

Many have called for an immediate investigation into the matter, with some suggesting that the issue reflects deeper problems within the association.

The GFA has yet to issue an official statement addressing the concerns, but the controversy adds to growing pressure on the association to demonstrate greater transparency and accountability in its dealings.

This development threatens to further erode trust between the GFA and the football community, with calls for reforms and better management practices gaining momentum. As the dust settles, stakeholders await the GFA’s response to what has become another black mark on its administration.
