Rapper Okyeame Kwame, from Ghana, has given a detailed explanation of why he despises religion and has stopped going to church altogether.
He claims he has come to the conclusion that religion is not for him because it only fosters hatred.
This was disclosed by Okyeame Kwame during an interview in which he detailed the whole backstory of why he was forced to wed his wife without the approval of their parents.
He claimed that because his wife was a Jehovah’s Witness and he was a Methodist, it was difficult for them to get their parents’ approval before getting married.
They planned their wedding and invited their parents, or not, as they saw fit, after realising they would never receive the necessary blessing.
That, according to Okyeame Kwame, taught him that religion is not interested in uniting people as Jesus taught, but rather in dividing them.
The rapper claimed that as a result, he adheres to Jesus’ teachings, which emphasise love, but he has no use for religion.
