In a recent revelation, Ghanaian presidential candidate Kofi Koranteng has shed light on why he is no longer appearing on Onua Maakye, the popular morning show on Onua TV hosted by Captain Smart.
According to Kofi Koranteng, his absence stems from Captain Smart’s shift in support towards former President John Dramani Mahama.
Kofi Koranteng, leader of the New Vision Movement, was once a regular guest on Onua Maakye, appearing every Tuesday alongside Ivan Kyei Innocent.
However, their appearances dwindled earlier this year, raising questions and sparking speculation among viewers, with some assuming a fallout between Captain Smart and his former guests.
Addressing the issue in a light-hearted tone, Kofi Koranteng clarified that he has deep respect for Captain Smart, crediting him as one of the few media figures who initially gave him a platform to discuss his political ambitions. “Captain Smart was the only one who believed in me and provided me with an opportunity to reach Ghanaians when no one else would,” he remarked.
Despite his respect for the outspoken journalist, Koranteng expressed disappointment over Captain Smart’s recent alignment with Mahama. He made a public appeal, urging Captain Smart to reconsider his stance, arguing that Mahama “has nothing new to offer Ghanaians” and encouraging him to instead support his campaign.
