I’m Happy You Voted Against Me In 2016, Today You Can See Akuffo-Addo’s Incompetence — Mahama Tells Ghanaians

Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, expressed gratitude for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s tenure, suggesting it has shown Ghanaians the distinct differences between the two leading political parties.

Speaking to supporters, Mahama shared that he believes this period under the NPP has given Ghanaians a firsthand comparison of each party’s governance approach.

“I always go on my knees and thank God for bringing Akufo-Addo and Bawumia to power,” Mahama remarked. “If we had won in 2016, Ghanaians wouldn’t have fully appreciated the work we did. Now, people can see the contrast between our track record and theirs.”

Mahama emphasized that, in his view, the NPP has done all it can in its eight years in office, and that it’s now up to Ghanaians to choose a party that will prioritize their interests.

He argued that under NDC leadership, the country experienced more stable economic growth and development, and he is confident that Ghanaians have noticed the difference.

“The people of Ghana now have something to compare, and we clearly stand out as the better choice,” he said, urging voters to reflect on the progress made under his previous administration.

With the upcoming elections drawing closer, Mahama’s comments highlight his campaign message: that an NDC government would offer a more effective and people-centered approach to addressing Ghana’s current challenges.
