The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has announced a commitment to create employment opportunities for trainee nurses if elected, rather than reinstating trainee allowances.
He plans to accomplish this by completing abandoned hospitals and finishing the Agenda 111 project.
Mahama emphasized that completing these healthcare facilities would not only enhance healthcare services across the country but also create essential job opportunities for trainee nurses and other healthcare professionals.
He highlighted that this approach would provide nurses and healthcare workers with stable and rewarding career paths. Additionally, Mahama urged the current government to pay the 30 months of overdue allowances owed to trainee nurses.
This statement emphasizes Mr Mahama’s focus on improving both employment and financial support for healthcare workers in Ghana.
