The Asokore Mampong District Court has granted bail to popular actor Lilwin, setting it at GH₵50,000 with two sureties.
This follows his arrest on charges related to a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy.
Lilwin, whose real name is Kwadwo Nkansah, is scheduled to reappear in court on June 27, 2024. He was arrested earlier today, June 3, 2024, after being discharged from Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he had been treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
The incident occurred on May 25 in Amakom, Kumasi, just hours before the premiere of Lilwin’s movie, “A Country Called Ghana.” According to reports, the young victim, Richard Nana Yaw Ampomah, was in the front passenger seat of his father’s car when Lilwin’s AMG Mercedes Benz collided with it.
Eyewitnesses claim that Lilwin was driving at high speed during the crash. Sadly, Richard Nana Yaw Ampomah succumbed to his injuries while being treated at the hospital later that day.
