Mahama Is Dump, He Knows Nothing About Digitization, Don’t Vote For Him — Bawumia To Ghanaians

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has sharply criticized National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, accusing him of undervaluing the role of digitalization in Ghana’s economic development.

Speaking to youth on Sunday, November 3, Bawumia contended that Mahama’s approach to digitalization reflects a lack of vision that he claims led to economic difficulties during Mahama’s previous administration.

Bawumia argued that digitalization has been essential to Ghana’s economic progress, providing substantial benefits to citizens and transforming the national economy.

He urged voters to reject Mahama in the upcoming 2024 elections, asserting that Mahama’s dismissal of digital advancements makes him unsuitable to lead in today’s digital age.

“Today, he [Mahama] says there’s no link between digitization and the economy. In this 4th industrial revolution, how can we have a leader who doesn’t appreciate the value of digitization in a digital global economy?” Bawumia questioned. “He should not be allowed close to the presidency with that mindset.”

Bawumia also challenged Mahama’s emphasis on infrastructure as a key achievement, suggesting it is secondary to the digital-focused approach of the current administration. “He [Mahama] has touted infrastructure as one of his achievements, but our infrastructure is superior to his. Today, he says infrastructure doesn’t matter for the economy. For someone who has been President to say infrastructure doesn’t impact the economy—I understand why the economy collapsed under his watch,” Bawumia remarked.

In addition, Bawumia expressed skepticism regarding Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economy policy, calling it vague and difficult to understand. “His signature 24-hour economy has defied explanation and understanding. It’s basically a case of one day, one explanation, including the rearing of lions and elephants. In me, you will have a brand new, tear-rubber president, not a second-hand failed president,” he declared.

Mahama, for his part, has described the 24-hour economy policy as a strategy to revitalize Ghana’s economy through targeted interventions.
