Trade and Industry Minister K.T. Hammond has launched a scathing critique of former President John Dramani Mahama, likening him to an “irresponsible husband” whom voters should reject in the upcoming elections.
Speaking to party supporters in Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Hammond urged Ghanaians to resist Mr. Mahama’s bid to return to power, arguing that his previous tenure was marked by incompetence.
“John Mahama is like that irresponsible husband a woman struggles to divorce. Years later, when she has moved on and is thriving, he wants to return. He was rejected by over one million votes, and we must not take him back,” he declared.
The minister also dismissed the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s proposed “24-Hour Economy” policy, describing it as a misguided approach that would fail to address critical issues like unemployment.
“The NDC harbors bad intentions for this country. That’s why they’re proposing such policies,” he added, emphasizing his belief that the ruling government remains the better option for Ghana’s progress.
The comments are part of heightened political rhetoric as the nation prepares for its next general elections.
