Comedian and actor Michael Blackson made a surprise appearance at the inauguration of Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama on January 7, 2025.
Michael Blackson shared a video on Instagram capturing his experience at the historic event held at Independence Square in Accra. In his post, Blackson expressed optimism for Ghana’s future, writing, “I’m excited about the future of Ghana.”
He praised the presence of African leaders, including Liberia’s president, Burkina Faso’s new leader, and Senegal’s young president, celebrating their collective vision for the continent.
Blackson’s enthusiastic message, “Africa Forever,” resonated with many, garnering praise from fans for his consistent pride in his African heritage.
The ceremony itself was a grand display of Ghanaian democracy, attended by thousands of citizens and dignitaries.
President Mahama took office with Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s first female Vice President. Michael Blackson’s presence at the event highlighted the growing bridge between African diaspora celebrities and their home continent.
