NPP Allegedly Offers Akua Donkor’s Running Mate 5 Billion Old Cedis To Withdraw And Support Bawumia

In a significant turn of events ahead of Ghana’s 2024 Presidential Election, Phillip Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, the presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has been disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC).

According to the EC, “errors and illegalities” on his nomination forms led to the disqualification. However, new video evidence has emerged, stirring controversy and suggesting that there may be more to the story.

In the video, a man claims that prominent political figures—including Dzataba and Akpaloo—attempted to persuade Roman Fada to withdraw from the race. Allegedly, New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (known as Chairman Wontumi), offered Roman Fada 5 billion old Ghana cedis if he would endorse the NPP’s candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Roman Fada reportedly turned down the offer, remaining committed to the principles of the late Madam Akua Donkor, founder of the GFP, who had entrusted him with carrying on her party’s mission.

The claims take an explosive turn as the man in the video insists he has evidence to substantiate his allegations. “I wouldn’t lie about this,” he asserts, “because if this goes to court, I can’t afford to make false statements.”

The timing of Roman Fada’s disqualification has raised questions, with some speculating that his refusal to accept the alleged bribe could have led to a strategic disqualification, effectively removing him from the electoral race. The incident has intensified public scrutiny on the upcoming election and heightened concerns about transparency and fairness in the process.
