"Oh Efo" - Suspected Wire Thieves Posing as Tilers Apprehended and Beaten in Accra

Two men disguised as tilers were caught red-handed attempting to steal electrical wires from an uncompleted building in Kokompe, Accra.

The suspects, reportedly posing as workers, were apprehended by vigilant locals who noticed their suspicious activities. In a video circulating online, the men are seen pleading for forgiveness as they are subjected to intense beatings by the crowd.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions, with some praising the community for intervening while others condemned the mob justice approach.

Critics argue that such punishment could escalate tensions and undermine the rule of law.

Calls for authorities to ensure proper prosecution of the suspects have emerged, emphasizing the need for legal deterrence.

Electrical wire theft has been an ongoing issue in Ghana, causing power outages and financial losses.

The Ghana police are yet to issue a statement, but the video has reignited conversations about addressing petty crime and community response strategies.
