Police Divisional Headquarters at shell camp in Owerri, Imo State has arrested a 20-year-old University Student of IMSU, Onyema Victor Chimaobi, with a gun and a live round.
The suspected, Victor, 20, is a Mechanical Engineering student of the Imo State University, Owerri, and hails from Umuguma in Owerri West Local Government Area.
While parading the suspect, the Imo State Police Public Relation officer, Orlando Ikeokwu said the suspect was arrested after officers conducted a search and found a locally made pistol and two live rounds on him.
“On the 9/5/21, While on crime prevention and intensive patrol, operatives of the Divisional Police Hqrs, Shell Camp, Owerri, intercepted one ONYEME VICTOR CHIMAOBI “M” 20yrs old, a native of Umuguma, Owerri West LGA, a student of Mechanical Engineering, Imo State University, upon physical search on him, a locally made Pistols and two live ammunition were recovered.
“He confessed to being the owner, stating that he is using it for his personal protection. An investigation is currently ongoing.”
