Ghanaian boxer Joshua Clottey has been arrested by James Town police for beating and assaulting a footballer in the vicinity, OccupyGh,com reports.
Joshua is a former IBF Welterweight champion. The former champ reportedly went into hiding following the beatings he levied on the Bukom footballer.
Earlier last week, the boxer was reported to have mercilessly assaulted the young footballer – Sylvester Ayitey-Adjin at the Bukom park.
Sources has disclosed to OccupyGh.com that Joshua has admitted beating Sylvester today, when he was finally arrested.
“The case is being investigated and assured justice will be levied soon” Chief Inspector Dompreh of the James Town police said.
Joshua Clottey is currently at the James Town police station, trying to secure a bail for his release.
