OccupyGh.com has been informed of a prison officer in Jasikan of the Oti Region who has committed suicide by hanging himself over a reported prison escape.
According to details gathered by our newsroom, a prisoner who managed to escape the prison has ignited an investigation into the affairs of the prison.
A prison officer, Sergeant Edwin David Doh, who was indicted because the prisoner escaped under his watch has taken his own life to ‘avoid the shame’.
Sergeant Edwin David Doh is said to have been at a post at Aflao when the prisoner escaped.
A source close to the situation told us that Sergeant Edwin David Doh was found hanging in his room at Jasikan.
