Christian Atsu Twasam, the late Ghanaian player who played in some of the top leagues in Europe died in February 2023.
On the 6th of February 2023, Atsu went missing in the unexpected aftermath of the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake; he was believed to be part of those trapped under the rubble of Hatayspor’s headquarters in Antakya after the quake.
On the 18th of February, confirmation was received by his agent that his lifeless body was recovered from the rubble of the building he was living in.
News outlets announced his death at approximately 6 a.m.
Atsu’s body was flown from Turkey to his family in Ghana on the 20th of February.
Christian Atsu’s one-week observation was observed at Adjiringanor Astro Turf, East Legon.
Late Christian Atsu’s final Funeral Rite is scheduled for Friday, March 17, 2023.
