3 Great Online-Only Events to Tune Into This Year

The internet was invented as a tool to share information among scholars – its predecessors were mostly computer networks between the supercomputers at universities (and the networks of the US military). In time, in turn, it has become so much more. For some, it’s the main source of news, for others, a tool to keep in touch with friends and family. And for many, it’s the main source of entertainment.

Online entertainment can take on many forms, from Betway Ghana live casino games to movies and music streams you can watch at any time of the day. And these days, it is also a medium through which you can follow events live from half a world away. This year, there are many events that are held online-only – here are a few upcoming ones that you might want to tune into.

Gamescom 2020 (August 25-29)
Gamescom is Europe’s biggest video game and interactive entertainment event – similar to E3 but held in Cologne, Germany. Video game developers from around the world use it to present their new and upcoming titles, and hardware manufacturers to unveil their coolest gaming.

Gamescom is the world’s biggest gaming event – both by exhibition space and the number of visitors. This year, in turn, it will be held online only – while visitors will not be able to browse its booths in person, some of its most important presentations and keynotes will be held. Online, of course.

320 Festival (May 8-10)
The 320 Festival is not your usual event – it is a series of keynotes, discussions, musical performances, and other activities completed online only. The goal: to normalize the discussion about mental health. The three-day event should’ve taken place in Los Angeles but it was canceled – instead, it will be held online.

People all over the world will be able to follow its speakers and performers online through Facebook Live, YouTube Live, Roku, Apple TV, and other channels.

Altísimo Live Festival (May 5th)
Finally, here’s one for those with a taste for Latin music: Altísimo Live Festival – basically, a virtual Cinco de Mayo concert – will be a charity event with a star-studded lineup. Among the performers set to sing and play during the event, we find pop legends like Gloria Estefan, actor Edward James Olmos, DJ Steve Aoki, along with Luis Fonsi, J Balvin, Diane Guerrero, Ana Brenda Contreras, Becky G, and many others.

The event will be live-streamed on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and many other channels.
