I Won’t Take TGMA Seriously Until NaCee Dies — Brother Sammy

Ghanaian gospel musician, Samuel Opoku, popularly known as Brother Sammy, has openly expressed his skepticism towards the credibility of the TGMA (Traditional Gospel Music Awards).

In an interview with Sean City TV, Brother Sammy candidly stated that he does not view the TGMA as a credible institution.

He attributed his stance to the involvement of Nacee, whom he referred to as his “dearest enemy,” in the organization of the award scheme, representing gospel musicians.

Brother Sammy argued that Nacee’s association with the TGMA has led to favoritism towards musicians who record their songs at his studio, such as himself and Obaapa Christy, while others are overlooked.

To support his claim, Brother Sammy recounted an incident where Nacee received an award and mentioned his anticipation for Joe Mettle to also receive recognition, which subsequently occurred.

The gospel musician boldly asserted that he will not take the TGMA seriously until Nacee is no longer associated with it.

Despite his reservations, Brother Sammy proudly emphasized his receipt of numerous awards, asserting that he remains Brother Sammy with or without the TGMA’s recognition.
