Reports indicate that the EFCC has lodged a three-count charge against Cubana Chief Priest, accusing him of mutilating the Naira by stepping on it on the floor, a violation of currency laws.
This legal action follows closely on the heels of similar charges brought against Bobrisky, who was recently sentenced to six months in jail for related offenses.
The video that got Cubana Chief Priest into the EFCC net emerged online as he was seen throwing a bundle of cash at an event.
it was alleged, Cubana Chief Priest sometime in 2020, in Lagos during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours and it was also alleged that sometime in January 2024, in Lagos during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the CBN by spraying same.
However, The allegations brought against Cubana were submitted on April 4th by EFFC prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) and a team of seven other lawyers representing the Commission’s Chairman.
