Afia Schwarzenegger has blasted pastors and churches in Ghana for allegedly ignoring the victims of the Akosombo Dam spill.
Pastor Mensah Otabil of the International Central Gospel Church and Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams of the Action Chapel have come under fire from Afia for their callous behaviour.
Afia claims that although these pastors accept donations for the purpose of aiding the poor, the sick, and those in extreme need, they are content to overlook the issue.
Afia continued by saying that if they each gave up the sale of a car, a car from their fleet could solve the entire issue.
Social media users are debating the issue and the church’s role in these situations after reading Schwar’s post.
The Akosombo Dam spill has caused flooding in a few areas of the Volta Region, including Mepe, Aveyime, Battor, and other places.
The affected communities’ residents have been forced to relocate as a result of the water submerging their homes, businesses, and personal belongings.
The media has been at the forefront of the problem, urging support for the victims, particularly TV3.
Thus far, a few businesses and generous people have contributed, but the church has not!
