Former President John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has reignited political discourse with his recent campaign statements, particularly concerning the controversial ‘Agyapadie’ document.
The Agyapadie document allegedly details an elaborate New Patriotic Party (NPP) plan to seize state assets.
Mahama unequivocally affirmed the authenticity of the document, asserting that it has been implemented despite claims to the contrary.
In a move that could reshape Ghana’s administrative landscape, the NDC leader revealed plans to carve out a new region from the existing Upper East Region, signaling potential geographical and political changes if elected.
Mahama didn’t hold back in his criticism of current government initiatives, targeting the Planting for Food and Jobs program and alleging its ineffectiveness.
In a bold declaration, he vowed to hold President Akufo-Addo and his administration accountable for what he termed as corruption and state capture, hinting at potential investigations should he return to power.
The ‘Agyapadie’ document, which has become a focal point of political debate, continues to divide opinion, with Mahama and his supporters insisting on its implementation while others claim it’s fabricated.
