Akosombo Dam Spillage: Barbers Unite to Provide Free Haircuts for Flood Victims in Volta Region

The recent floods that ravaged parts of the Volta region due to the Akosombo Dam spillage have left behind a trail of destruction and displaced numerous residents.

To aid those affected, the Ghana Association of Barbers and Barbering Salon Owners has joined hands with Media General to offer free haircuts to the victims in Mepe, a town in the Volta Region.

This act of kindness is meant to provide some comfort to the flood victims who have endured significant hardships.

The controlled spillage of the Akosombo Dam and the Kpong Dam by the Volta River Authority was necessary to manage rising water levels.

However, it resulted in widespread flooding, causing considerable damage to properties and homes.
