A group of angry youth from Accra visited the premises of Accra-based Angel FM, searching for controversial media personality, Okatakyie Afrifa.
The youth, who appeared to be from the Ga community, were captured on video demanding to know Afrifa’s whereabouts.
According to the viral video, the youth threatened to burn Okatakyie Afrifa alive if they were to find him. They claimed that Afrifa had been insulting them and their elders, which triggered their decision to confront him.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of media personalities and the growing trend of violence and intimidation against individuals who express unpopular opinions.
It is unclear what prompted Okatakyie Afrifa’s alleged insults against the Ga community, but the incident highlights the need for greater tolerance and respect for differing opinions in Ghanaian society.
Angel FM has yet to comment on the incident, and it is unclear whether Afrifa was present at the station during the youth’s visit.
The police have also not commented on the matter, but it is hoped that they will take steps to ensure Afrifa’s safety and prevent any further incidents of violence or intimidation.
