A group of frustrated supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) reportedly stormed the homes of some party executives in the Asamankese district to retrieve items meant for distribution.
The items, including industrial sewing machines, were allegedly promised to electorates ahead of the elections but were never delivered.
Angry over the unfulfilled promises and the party’s election loss, the supporters took matters into their own hands.
Eyewitnesses revealed chaotic scenes as residents watched the ransacking unfold, with party executives unable to prevent the retrieval.
The incident highlights growing discontent among grassroots supporters, who feel neglected despite their loyalty to the party.
The NPP leadership in Asamankese is yet to officially respond to the situation as tensions remain high.
