Anti-LGBTQ Bill: Ghana Will Not Slip From Its Enviable Human Rights Records - Prez Nana Akufo-Addo Reaffirms Diplomats Amidst Controversial Anti-LGBTQ Bill

In a recent speech, President Nana Akufo-Addo reassured diplomats that Ghana would maintain its commendable human rights standards.

This affirmation follows the drafting of an anti-LGBTQ bill by Ghana’s parliament, signaling a potential shift in the country’s stance on LGBTQ+ rights.

The proposed legislation, if enacted, would impose significant restrictions on the rights of the LGBT+ community in Ghana.

Parliament approved the bill on February 28, 2024, pending presidential endorsement to become law.
