Antoine Semenyo Narrates How He Landed Bournemouth Deal After Chelsea And Arsenal Rejected Him

Ghanaian and Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has opened up about his journey in football, revealing the hurdles he faced after being turned down by top clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal during his early years.

The 24-year-old striker took an unconventional path to the Premier League, spending time in the lower tiers of English football before making his mark.

Semenyo’s professional career began at Bristol City, but he gained valuable experience on loan spells at clubs like Bath City and Newport County in lower divisions.

After a stint with Championship side Sunderland, Semenyo finally got his chance with Bristol City before eventually making a move to Bournemouth for £10 million in January 2023.

Since then, he has become a vital player for Bournemouth, showcasing his skills with eight goals and two assists in 31 Premier League appearances this season.

Reflecting on his journey, Semenyo admitted facing rejection from clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, and Millwall was tough. However, he credits those experiences for making him mentally stronger.

Despite the setbacks, Semenyo persevered, and his determination has paid off as he continues to make strides in his football career.
