Bishop Salifu Amoako, General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, has issued a public apology following the tragic car accident in East Legon that claimed the lives of two young girls.
His son, 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako, was driving the vehicle involved in the fatal collision. In a deeply emotional social media post, Bishop Amoako pleaded for forgiveness from the grieving families of the victims, expressing profound remorse over the incident.
The accident occurred on October 12, 2024, when Elrad’s car collided with another vehicle, killing 12-year-olds Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu.
Both Bishop Amoako and his wife, along with a sales assistant who allegedly provided the car keys to their underage son, have been arrested and charged for their roles in the tragedy.
While many have offered condolences and support to the families, there are also growing calls for legal accountability, underscoring the need for justice.
In response, the community has organized an all-white candlelight vigil to honor the young victims, reflecting the widespread grief and solidarity.
