BREAK: Two Binance Executives Detained in Nigeria

A piece of breaking news at OccupyGh.com indicates that two Binance executives have been detained in Nigeria.

Tigran Gambaryan, Binance’s head of investigations, and Nadeem Anjarwalla, manager for Binance Africa were detained in Nigeria after they flew into the country to meet with government officials.

Details of detention available to OccupyGh.com show that the executives were invited to discuss regulations but were detained upon arrival. Their passports were seized, however, they haven’t been formally charged yet.

Reason for Detention:

The Nigerian government is cracking down on cryptocurrency exchanges, and they accuse Binance of operating illegally. They also suspect the exchange of facilitating illicit financial transactions.

Negotiations between Binance and the Nigerian government seem to be at a standstill, with both sides making demands.

This is a developing news story, more details shortly
