
<p style="font-size:25px"><strong>A Lagos court has remanded the founder of ‘I Reign Christian Ministry’, Bishop Daniel Oluwafeyiropo, for allegedly raping two of his church members. </strong></p>



<p>The accused was arraigned on two counts of rape in June 2020 at Ikota Villa Estate in Lekki, Lagos.</p>



<p> The Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has ordered him to be remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre until he fulfils his bail conditions.</p>



<p>Bishop Oluwafeyiropo has been granted bail in the sum of N20 million with two sureties, one of whom must be a property owner in Lagos. </p>

<p>The accused has also been ordered to submit his international passport and the landed property document to the chief registrar of Lagos state. Additionally, the sureties must reside within the court&#8217;s jurisdiction and provide evidence of their tax payments for the past three years.</p>



<p>The lead prosecution counsel, Babjide Boye, urged the court to reject the bail application on the grounds that the accused may interfere with prosecution witnesses. </p>



<p>However, the defense counsel, Olukunle Oyewole, argued that Bishop Oluwafeyiropo is a religious leader with credible sureties who can stand for him.</p>



<p>The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, has spoken out against his arrest on his official Facebook page. </p>

<p>He claims that his arrest and prosecution are politically motivated and designed to discredit his voice as a prophet.</p>



<p>The case has sparked outrage and condemnation from the public, with many calling for justice for the victims. </p>



<p>The allegations of sexual abuse by religious leaders have become a recurring theme in recent times, and the Nigerian authorities have been urged to take action to address this problem.</p>
