Emmanuel Sakyi Afriyie: ABSA Banker Arrested For Stealing ¢1.2 Million From customer's Accounts

Emmanuel Sakyi Afriyie, a 25-year-old contract employee of the ABSA bank of the Osu Branch has been apprehended by the police for embezzling more than GH¢1.2 million from customer‘s accounts.

The account he allegedly stole from includes the bank account of former IGP, the late Ernest Ako, and a late retired High Court judge, Justice Anthony Kofi Adada.

It is alleged that he used the stolen funds to purchase an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and a car.

He reportedly transferred some of the money to his girlfriend’s account and 17 other acquaintances.

According to a report available to occupygh.com, on his arrest, Emmanuel and his girlfriend were attempting to flee to Dubai but they were intercepted by the Ghana Immigration Service and subsequently handed over to the police.
