A tragic incident at O’Reilly Senior High School (SHS) has left the school community in shock after an 18-year-old student, Edward Borketey Sackey, was fatally stabbed by a fellow student on September 3, 2024.
The altercation reportedly began over a heated argument about whose father was wealthier, escalating into a fight where Edward was stabbed three times in the chest. Despite being rushed to LEKMA Hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police have since arrested the suspect, and there has been a heavy police presence at the school. Edward’s family has voiced their frustration over the school’s delayed response and is considering legal action for negligence.
The school authorities have yet to release an official statement, raising concerns about their handling of security and student safety.
