
<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>In a tragic incident at Federal University Dutse (FUD) in Jigawa State, a female student is reported to have murdered her newborn baby in the school&#8217;s hostel.</strong></p>



<p>The student allegedly gave birth in a hostel toilet on Monday, June 10, and then threw the baby from the top floor of a three-storey building.</p>



<p>A video from the scene shows the newborn&#8217;s body lying on the concrete below, with two students attempting to wrap the baby and the discarded placenta in a towel. Other students can be seen watching and condemning the mother&#8217;s actions.</p>

<p>Another video captures a large crowd of students gathering to glimpse the 200-level student as she was escorted away by school authorities.</p>



<p>The university’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Bello, confirmed the incident, assuring that the university promptly notified the authorities. Bello clarified that the student&#8217;s pregnancy did not occur during her time at the university, as the academic session had just resumed.</p>



<p>Immediate medical attention was provided to the student following the incident.</p>



<p>&#8220;The university administration is conducting a thorough investigation and taking necessary measures to address the situation,&#8221; Bello stated.</p>
