Ghana Must Go: This Is How Ghanaians Were Deported From Nigeria In 1983 (VIDEO)

Ghana Must Go: A video sighted by OccupyGh.com explains where the phrase ‘Ghana Must Go’ originated from.

Apparently, Former Nigerian President, Shehu Shagari in 1983 issued an executive order which meant that all immigrants without proper immigration documents should leave Nigeria.

Most of the immigrants were from Ghana and other West African nations with about 1 million Ghanaian men, women, and children affected.

This also brought the name, ‘GHANA MUST GO’.

We have sighted a throwback video showing the conditions under which Ghanaians were deported from Nigeria in 1983 as part of the ‘Ghana Must Go’ movement.

Most of these Ghanaians had settled in Nigeria, mostly in search of greener pastures, were forced to pack their belongings in a jute bag that would later be named ‘Ghana Must Go’.
