NEWS FLASH! Ghana To Send Trained Nurses To UK

According to an agreement between the government and the UK, Ghana would transfer some qualified nurses to the UK, according to Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu.

According to the health minister, the government and the British government have a bilateral arrangement that allows Ghanaian-trained nurses to be sent to the UK in exchange for financial benefits.

On Monday, December 5, Kwaku Agyemang Manu made this statement on the House Floor during the discussion of the 2023 Budget.

He stated as follows:

“We are engaging with the government of the United Kingdom, and we are just about to sign a memorandum of the agreement after cabinet approval to begin to send nurses for training and work there and come back home after three years.”

Ghana is going to benefit from the little money that the UK government will pass on. For every single nurse that goes away, when we finish the agreement, it is likely we will get over 1000 pounds to come and support the health system in Ghana.
