A Ghanaian trader has sparked an unusual public debate by comparing Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Freedom Jacob Caesar, to the Biblical King Darius, expressing concerns that if elected president, he might act with unchecked power.
The trader remarked that, like the ancient king who fed wrongdoers to lions, Bediako had the potential to impose severe punishments on citizens. Bediako, a successful businessman and real estate mogul, is the founder of Kwarleyz Group and has made significant strides with projects like Wonda World Estate and the proposed Petronia City.
As the leader of the New Force political party, Bediako is currently vying for the presidency in Ghana’s 2024 elections.
His candidacy has attracted a mix of admiration and skepticism, with some, like the concerned trader, fearing the possibility of authoritarian rule given his business empire and public persona.
However, many of his supporters praise him for his visionary leadership in transforming Ghana’s real estate sector and believe he can bring the same success to national governance.
The comparison to King Darius has stirred discussions on social media, amplifying both support and concerns surrounding Bediako’s presidential ambitions.
