Government Calls Out John Mahama Over Ambulances' Comments

The government has hit back at former President John Mahama after he criticized the distribution of ambulances in the country.

Speaking at a media briefing in Accra, Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said Mr. Mahama is only trying to score political points.

The former President during an interaction with selected media personnel on Thursday (January 30) accused President Akufo-Addo of distributing ambulances without resourcing health facilities in the country.

According to him, the ambulances may not be able to serve their purpose, especially handling emergency cases.

But the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said Mr. Mahama is trying to cause some disaffection for what the government has done.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah asked former President Mahama, to stop running his mouth on the current state of the economy if he has nothing to bring on board.

The Information Minister also touched on the contradiction former President Mahama referred to, concerning the banking sector crisis.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah explained that state institutions will no sooner than later make known the level of implementation to the government’s White Paper on the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
