Ghanaian social media influencer Mona Faiz Montrage known widely as Hajia4Real has been extradited from the United Kingdom to the US for reportedly swindling over $2 million from older, single American men and women in a whirled lonely hearts scam, federal prosecutors said Monday.
According to the New York Post Hajia4real singer showed up in Manhattan federal court on Monday.
During the court proceedings, Mona Faiz entered a plea of not guilty. It has been confirmed that Hajia will be released in the upcoming days upon posting a $500,000 bond.
As part of her release conditions, Hajia4real will be obliged to wear an ankle monitor with GPS tracking.
Per federal authorities, Hajia4real was involved in a network of fraudsters hailing from Ghana and Nigeria.
