I Made Her Famous: Sumsum Fumes As He Sheds Light on Akuapem Poloo’s Arrogance

Kumawood actor, Yaw Adu, popularly known as Sumsum Ahuofe, has claimed that he made Ghanaian social media personality, Akuapem Poloo, famous but feels disappointed in her recent behavior.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Sumsum recounted how he met Akuapem Poloo through a mutual friend living in the United States and helped her gain popularity in Ghana’s media space.

Sumsum revealed that his friend asked him to help Akuapem Poloo become famous in Ghana’s media space, and he agreed to create a video where he would insult her, and she would reply with insults of her own.

The video generated buzz, and Sumsum claims that he played a significant role in making Akuapem Poloo famous.

However, Sumsum feels disappointed in Akuapem Poloo’s recent behavior, particularly her decision to convert to Islam and then post videos of herself twerking. Sumsum criticized her behavior, stating that she is disgracing Muslims and that Muslims are decent.

Sumsum also mentioned that although he helped Akuapem Poloo when she was arrested and sentenced to 90 days in jail for sharing a nude photo of herself and her son on social media, he now feels that she has become arrogant and forgotten where she came from and how she got her start.

“I made Akuapem Poloo a star, but when she sees me, she raises her shoulders. Women, when you make them famous, tend to worry a lot,” Sumsum said.

Sumsum’s comments have generated mixed reactions from Ghanaians, with some agreeing with him and others criticizing him for publicly shaming Akuapem Poloo.

However, Sumsum’s revelations highlight the challenges that come with fame and the importance of staying humble and grounded.
