Gospel musician Evangelist Diana Asamoah has stirred controversy by declaring her allegiance to both major political parties in Ghana – the NPP and NDC – following the 2024 general elections.
Despite being a vocal supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the campaigns, she stated in a recent interview that she now plans to “eat big” from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after their victory. Diana Asamoah explained that she is simply waiting for the party to settle in power to benefit.
This statement surprised many Ghanaians, who questioned her sudden change in stance and loyalty. Social media reactions have been swift, with some accusing her of opportunism and greed.
A user, @iamogidigidi, commented, “After publicly campaigning for NPP, she thinks NDC will just call her and dash her free money lol.” Others criticized her as part of Ghana’s larger societal issues, highlighting concerns over individuals switching allegiances for personal gain.
The development has ignited debates about loyalty, integrity, and the role of public figures in politics, with some calling for accountability and consistency. Diana Asamoah, however, remains unapologetic, insisting she knows how to work with any party in power.
