A market woman in Kumasi has come out to correct the narrative surrounding the construction of the Kejetia market.
According to her, it was former President John Agyekum Kufuor who funded and constructed the market, and not former President John Mahama as some may claim.
The market woman, who spoke passionately about the issue, stated that former President Kufuor’s administration was responsible for the construction of the market, and that former President Mahama had no involvement in the project.
She also addressed the issue of the second phase of the market’s construction, which has been stalled. While acknowledging that the current government has not been able to complete the project, she expressed gratitude to God that the government has still been able to cater to the needs of many citizens.
The market woman’s comments are significant, as they provide clarity on the history of the Kejetia market’s construction.
Her statement also highlights the appreciation that many Ghanaians have for the development projects undertaken by former President Kufuor’s administration.
The Kejetia market is a major commercial hub in Kumasi, and its construction has had a significant impact on the local economy.
