President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed concerns about John Dramani Mahama’s ability to lead Ghana, citing potential risks to key policies, including the Free Senior High School (SHS) program.
During a meeting with North-East Region chiefs and people, Akufo-Addo cautioned that voting for Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7 elections could lead to the cancellation of major initiatives.
Akufo-Addo pointed to Mahama’s recent remarks as evidence that the NDC leader might scrap the Free SHS program if elected.

He urged Mahama to clarify his stance, emphasizing that Ghanaians deserve to know his true position on the program that has benefited countless students nationwide.
“Let’s ask him, which is which? What should the Ghanaian people take as your real position?” Akufo-Addo questioned. “What should we believe? Are you going to change it? Are you going to cancel it? Are you going to improve it? Because every time you open your mouth, you say a different thing.”
Akufo-Addo challenged Mahama’s trustworthiness, stating, “I don’t think a man who talks like that, who wants the supreme office of our country, is somebody who can be trusted.” This comes after Akufo-Addo previously challenged Mahama to acknowledge the origins of the Free SHS policy.
