Mahama Meets Journalists in Townhall Gathering; Sparks Stirs Online

Former President John Mahama recently held a press meeting that has become the center of a heated debate over journalistic freedom and political transparency.

The event, attended by prominent journalists such as Bernard Avle, Umaru Sanda, and Saddick Adams, was meant to provide an open forum for discussion.

However, controversy erupted when reports surfaced suggesting that Mahama’s team had attempted to provide predetermined questions to attendees, including both journalists and social media influencers.

This alleged move was purportedly aimed at managing the narrative and easing Mahama’s interaction during the event.

The claim was met with widespread skepticism and ridicule, particularly from those familiar with Mahama’s history of facing tough questioning from seasoned journalists.

Many pointed out that such control seemed unnecessary given his experience and ability to handle challenging inquiries.

Adding fuel to the fire, popular influencer Kwadwo Sheldon, known for his support of the opposing NPP party, publicly declined an invitation to the event claiming that the NDC revealed that he would only be allowed to ask pre-approved questions.
