A Nigerian man has been left devastated after discovering that the house he sent money to his wife to build during his 20 years in Europe was an uncompleted structure.
This revelation came to light through a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), where the man shared his plight.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, narrated how he had been sending money to his wife over the years to construct a home in Nigeria. However, upon returning, he found an uncompleted building instead of the fully completed and furnished house she had consistently claimed to have built, even sending him staged photographs as proof.

In an emotional video accompanying the post, the man could be seen on his knees, pleading for help to resolve the situation.
“Please help me, come to my rescue. After 20 years in Europe, I sent my wife money to build a house for me, but look at what she built. She always sent me photos of a new house she claimed was completed and furnished, but this is what I came back to,”
he lamented.
The man disclosed that he had taken legal action, resulting in his wife’s arrest. “I’ve arrested her; she’s at the station,” he added, emphasizing his sense of betrayal and loss after decades of hard work abroad.
The story has sparked widespread reactions online, with many sympathizing with the man while others debated the complexities of entrusting significant financial projects to partners from afar. This incident underscores the importance of oversight and transparency in financial dealings, especially in long-distance arrangements.
