MP For Kumawu Philip Basoah Dies After He Went Missing From Parliament

Hon. Philip Basoah, MP for Kumawu is reported dead on the 28th of March, 2023. Kumawu passed away at the age of 53 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Philip Atta Basoah was conspicuously missing in parliament last Friday during a critical vote to confirm ministerial appointees of President Akufo-Addo.

Neither his Assistant nor anyone close to him knew his whereabouts until his room was forcibly broken into, only to find him unconscious.

He was rushed to the hospital while he was in a coma but died while plans were underway to fly him out for further care.

He was the Chief Executive for the Sekyere East District from 2005 to 2009 and a tutor at the Agogo State College.
