The Fetish Priests Association of Ghana, comprising over 2,000 members, has threatened a nationwide protest against the devastating impact of galamsey activities on lands, water bodies, and forests.
In an interview on Kasapa Kase3, FPAG President Kwaku Bonsam warned that the demonstration will be accompanied by curses on those responsible for environmental destruction, with the wrath of the gods evident within two weeks, resulting in loss of life for perpetrators.

Preparations are underway to finalize a date for the event, after which the group will petition the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Sanitation, forwarding it to the President. This follows their earlier caution to the government two months ago.
The Ghana Catholic Bishops and Organized Labour have also threatened a nationwide strike and demonstration by October 10 if the galamsey issue remains unresolved, further amplifying the growing discontent over the government’s inaction ¹.
