National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has pledged that his administration will not tolerate the acquisition of state assets by government officials.
This comes amid concerns of widespread state asset theft under the current administration.
Speaking in Accra on Sunday, Mahama emphasized that his appointees must adhere to a higher standard of service, demonstrating modesty, humility, and a commitment to improving the lives of young people.
He stressed that no official serving in his government would be permitted to purchase state assets, including vehicles, buildings, land, or any other property.
Mahama’s vow aims to address the perceived culture of corruption and asset theft that has plagued the current administration.
His promise has been welcomed by many, who see it as a crucial step towards restoring transparency and accountability in government.
